The First Vice President of Afghanistan, H.E. Amrullah Saleh held a virtual meeting with the Executive Board of the Afghan Experts for Relief and Development of Afghanistan (ERADA) on 24 Jan 2021, to discuss ongoing collaborations related to ERADA’s support to the development of a national diaspora policy and institution in Afghanistan. It has been agreed that ERADA could provide technical support to the Diaspora Directorate of the Government of Afghanistan in defining strategic priorities and liaising with the Afghan diaspora community around the globe. Both sides also focused on ERADA’s support to the health sector, including COVID19 response, addressing issues of quality of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and the ongoing health sector restructuring process. ERADA’s contributions to the ongoing peace agenda from socio-economic and humanitarian perspectives was also briefly discussed.
